Attention, advertisers: are you making “fans” or are you making money?

 

Advertising isn’t about creating award-winning, Hollywood-esque entertainment.

 

It’s about bridging the gap between customers’ pre-existing desires and the unique benefits a brand offers.

 

Don’t get me wrong—the former is obviously lots of fun.

 

But having fun doesn’t equate to making money (if it did, accountants probably wouldn’t exist).
